Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of HandshakeAI, an online task marketplace operated for users in Kenya. By creating an account you accept them. There are two kinds of accounts: Workers who complete tasks, and Business Clients who fund campaigns and publish tasks.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. One person may hold one account. You are responsible for your credentials; we will never ask for your password or M-Pesa PIN. Administrator privileges are assigned only through trusted server-side operations — no user can grant them to themselves.

Business Clients must fund a campaign's budget before its tasks are published. Workers may claim only tasks they are eligible for, submit their own genuine work before the deadline, and follow the task's published instructions and approval rules. Slot limits and duplicate submission limits are enforced on our servers.

You may not use HandshakeAI to create, request or perform: fake reviews or ratings; fake engagement (followers, likes, views, clicks); spam or deceptive promotion; tasks that violate any other platform's terms; fraud, money laundering or the solicitation of payments from workers; or any illegal activity. We may suspend accounts and cancel tasks that break these rules, and report serious abuse to the authorities.

A reward is credited only when a submission is approved by the Client or an authorised administrator, and each approval creates exactly one reward. Rejections must state a reason. Workers may resubmit where a task allows it or appeal through support. Withdrawal requests are reviewed for fraud protection before payout to the worker's verified Safaricom number. Current fees and withdrawal minimums are published on the Pricing & Fees page and are controlled by live platform settings. The service fee is charged to the Client's campaign and is never deducted from a worker's approved reward.

HandshakeAI is a marketplace, not an employer. We do not guarantee any level of earnings, task availability, or approval of any submission. We display genuine platform statistics, including zeros.

You may close your account at any time via support. We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse, repeated rule-breaking, or suspicious activity, with notice where practicable. Balances of suspended accounts remain recoverable where the underlying work was genuine, subject to investigation.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by Kenyan law, HandshakeAI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising from a campaign or reward is limited to the amounts actually held for that campaign or reward.

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes should first be raised through support so we can resolve them quickly.
